About Us

Carrie was born and raised in the Midwest. Daniel was born in New York and grew up in Maryland. Carrie and Daniel both went to Stanford where she studied biology and economics and he studied math and computer science. Carrie went to Columbia medical school (where Daniel’s parents and grandfather also went!), and she is now a surgery resident at Columbia Presbyterian.  Daniel is a quant at IEX.

​Timeline of events

• September 2005 - Carrie and Daniel first meet at Stanford.  They become vague acquaintances.
• June 2009 - Carrie and Daniel finish college and both move to New York, Carrie for medical school and Daniel to work in finance.  They bump into each other two or three times over the next 5 years, and are friendly but don't really know each other at this point.
• January 2015 - Carrie invites Daniel to a dinner party at her apartment out of the blue, and he gladly accepts.  They hang out more and more and become close over the next several months!
• October 31, 2015 - First date on Halloween - Daniel dressed up as a hipster, and Carrie was "masquerade" (??).
• March 14, 2016 - Engaged in Curacao!  Getting engaged after 4.5 months is typical, right?
• May 27, 2017 - Married in St. Thomas (hopefully)!
