St. Thomas
St. Thomas is one of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Since it's part of the U.S., you don't need a passport to travel there. It's about a 3.5 hour direct flight from New York.
Rooms
We will be holding events on all three nights (Friday-Sunday), with the wedding taking place on Saturday evening. We plan on arriving on Friday May 26th and departing on Monday May 29th. The Ritz-Carlton set aside a block of rooms for our guests, and we encourage everyone to stay at the resort.
You can book a room in our block by calling the resort at 1-877-557-3095 and mentioning our wedding. If you need any help with your reservation, please feel free to reach out to us directly, as we are in regular communication with the resort staff.

Airport Transportation
The main airport in St. Thomas is Cyril E. King Airport (STT). It is about a 30-minute drive from the resort. Taxi information can be found here. It looks like it a taxi from the airport typically costs about $12/person (or $18 for 1 passenger). If you give us your travel info, we can help you coordinate transportation with other guests arriving at the same time.
Zika
St. Thomas is on the CDC watch list for Zika virus. We are closely monitoring the situation, and at this point we personally are comfortable holding the wedding there. The resort highly prioritizes sanitation and fogs for mosquitoes twice daily.
As of mid-January 2017, there have been about 650 cases of Zika contraction in St. Thomas dating back to January 2016 (compared to ~2 million visitors / year). The rate of reported cases peaked in August and September, and has fallen dramatically during the winter, but it could rise again by the time of the wedding. The CDC recommends against women who are pregnant traveling the the U.S. Virgin Islands. For folks considering getting pregnant, if you do happen to contract the virus, the CDC currently recommends that you wait at least 8 weeks afterward if you're a woman, or at least 6 months if you're a man, before attempting to get pregnant (more information here).
The latest information about Zika in St. Thomas can be found on the CDC website here, and on the Virgin Islands Department of Health website here (which produces weekly status updates). We encourage you to read up on the situation and make sure you are 100% comfortable with it if you will be attending. Definitely feel free to reach out to either of us if you have any questions.
If you are unable to attend the wedding because of concerns around Zika, we will miss you, but we completely understand.
